IP protection stressed in renewable energy sources plan

On November 12, at a press briefing jointly held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission, the international S&T cooperation plan on renewable and new energy sources was formally launched, clearly defining that intellectual property protection will be one of the five principles of the plan.

On the basis of protection IP, the plan will strengthen IP protection on advanced technologies conducing to S&T progress and innovation as well as transformation, application and promotion of S&T fruits in international S&T cooperation on renewable and new energy sources.

The other four principles include: cooperation, mutual benefits and win-win, share of advanced technologies, integration of advantageous resources, and technology innovation.

China's constitution and implementation of this plan aims to enhance the technological level of development and application o renewable and new energy sources in China and the whole world to deal with global climate change, save resources of energy sources, realize sustainable development of economic society and construct a harmonious world, and strengthen the international S&T cooperation on renewable and new energy sources between China and other countries.
