Microsoft, media companies constitute protection rules for Internet copyright

At a recent Internet meeting held in San Francisco, Microsoft, Walt-Disney, Viacom signed an agreement togehter with other media to jointly constitute a set of direction policies for Internet copyright protection. However, Google, who has the largest video website in the world, didn't attend the meeting.

The companies agreed to make use of technical measures to delete the infringing contents uploaded by users and to prevent the pirated contents appearing before publicity.

The online video broadcast develop rapidly in recent years, while the conflicts between media and websites become increasingly prominent. Google and its video website YouTube are now faced with the lawsuit by Viacom, requesting US$1 billion compensation.

It is learnt that, Google is in negotiation for joining this media alliance. [Chinese version is available on tech.163.com]
