China and Japan to strengthen IP cooperation

The first China and Japan High-level Economic Dialogue was ended On December 2. The two sides jointly announced a News-Gazette of First China and Japan High-level Economic Dialogue that China and Japan will continue to strengthen cooperation and negotiation in intellectual property field.

According to the News-Gazette, the two sides agreed to constantly dispatch official and civil joint visiting delegation to China, strengthen cooperation on the modification of main IP regulations and IP talent cultivation; strengthen IP law enforcement, provide relevant information of suspecting IP infringement, promote civil IP exchange and cooperation under the guidance of central administration institution; actively participate East Asia Forum on New Plant Variety Protection to coordinate and stress new plant variety protection system.

It is learnt that, the First China and Japan High-level Economic Dialogue was held in Beijing on December 1. Chinese and Japanese delegation was headed by the State Council Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan and Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura respectively. On December 2, Premier Wen Jiabao had a meeting with Japanese officers. The two sides exchanged candid opinions on macroeconomy, trade and investment issues, climate change, environment and energy problems, regional and international economic issues.
