In 2007, people's courts at all levels tried 2,684 criminal cases of IP infringements and sentenced 4,322 criminals, said Vice President of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) Xiong Xuanguo on the 15th in Beijing.
Xiong said in his speech at the High-level International Symposium on IPR Judicial Protection that the people's courts did a good job in adjudication of IPR cases, and fulfilled the task of judicial review for cases involving patents, trademarks and administrative enforcement.
The rapid growth of IPR criminal, civil and administrative cases reflects that judicial protection of intellectual property rights has won people's trust. [Chinese version is available on Xinhua]
