DuPont and Trustchem reached amicable settlement on patent dispute

On August 2, DuPont announced that it had reached an agreement of amicable settlement on patent dispute with Nanjing Trustchem Co. Ltd.

In March, DuPont instituted a proceeding in Nanjing against Trustchem Co. Ltd., a company selling agricultural products that contain rimsulfuron. In China, DuPont enjoys the patent right of rimsulfuron, a major component of herbicide chemicals. According to the agreement of amicable settlement, Trustchem will compensate for DuPont's loss and publish an apology to DuPont.

DuPont also instituted proceedings against several other Chinese companies on the basis of the similar patent and has started investigations on the relevant Chinese companies which are suspected of patent infringement.
