On October 26, Audi China announced that Audi has signed strategic agreements with China FAW and SAIC Motor respectively to further clarify its "dual brand, dual partner" channel architecture in China. Under the agreements, the Four-Ring brand will be operated by FAW Audi, while the AUDI (Audi letter mark) brand will be operated by SAIC Audi.
Audi stated that the strategic agreements aim to strengthen the differentiated positioning and respective strategic focus between the Four-Ring brand and the AUDI brand. China FAW will comprehensively strengthen the Four-Ring brand's market advantages in both intelligent luxury new energy vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles, competing in the market with a fully intelligent luxury product matrix. SAIC Audi will focus on the AUDI brand, concentrating on the new energy vehicle market and launching next-generation intelligent connected vehicles that meet the needs of Chinese consumers.
Regarding the Four-Ring brand, Audi and China FAW will continue to strengthen the luxury product matrix, covering luxury new energy vehicles and next-generation intelligent internal combustion engine vehicles, with specific models including the Audi A6L e-tron, Q6L e-tron, as well as the all-new Audi A5L and A6L.
Addressing the transition of existing operations, Audi China made clear that SAIC Audi may continue to sell Four-Ring products normally until the end of 2027. After-sales services for SAIC Audi's Four-Ring brand products and the all-new AUDI brand products will maintain stable operations. This arrangement is intended to ensure continuity in customer service, after-sales support, and dealer operations.
Johannes Roscheck, President of Audi China, said: "With a clearer strategic focus and differentiated brand positioning, we are laying a solid foundation for Audi's long-term sustainable development in China."
Liu Yigong, Director and General Manager of China FAW Group Co., Ltd., stated that FAW Audi will implement the strategy of "comprehensive intelligence across fuel, electric, and hybrid vehicles" to fully meet users' diverse needs.
Jia Jianxu, President of SAIC Motor, stated that the AUDI brand carries the mission of "pioneering a new model of joint venture cooperation."
